Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND)

The Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) is the central body of the United Nations which makes key decisions regarding drug policy at the global level.

The CND monitors the state of the drugs problem in the world, develops the international drug control strategies and makes recommendations for the implementation of measures aimed at combating the world drug problem, including demand reduction, alternative development and measures to reduce the supply of drugs.

The CND during the regular annual session allows Member States a platform for exchange of professional knowledge, experience and information on relevant issues and cooperation in taking coordinated measures against the global drug situation.

The same works on the basis of international drug control treaties.

The Republic of Croatia was admitted to CND membership for a term of 4 years, during the period 1 April 2004 to 31 December 2007.
